Album Review: Alex Izenberg Is Back In “Caravan Chateau”
Out July 31, Alex Izenberg returns to music, after a four year hiatus, in “Caravan Chateau.” Talk about a title that completely embodies the sound of this record. It feels nomadic, but as if Alex is building a chateau wherever he can rest his ears head. Considering that the album was made after Alex took a mental health journey, it seems right that the record feels like a concise, colorful, and crystallized look at feeling all over.

From “Revolution” to “Bouquets Falling In The Rain,” Itzenberg’s sounds feel like they are rightfully drifting or shadowy wandering. They feel as if they are moving beyond rhythmic patterns and into shifts similar to plate tectonics rumbling across your mind. Lyrically, it is as if he trying to find a spiritual luxury like a man there is no such thing as a house, but there is such thing as a home. In essence, your life is a journey, at best, a home is like a “Caravan Chateau” a golden piece that is moving forward, whether you life it or not.

Vocally, Itzenberg’s voice goes from floating to trembling. The whole record feels like a spiritual observance of feelings, and how your mind can become a broken antenna of sorts. Imagine that! Your heart holds your emotions, while your spirit carries your experiences, and your mind is the bridge between both that is trying to bring peace between two entities that forget they are one. It is a beautiful concept he paints in water-colors; dripping in abstraction so that he never feels captured by life, but yet always catches something about living. The result is a record the feels personal and artful; the product of a man that truly sees music is self-expression. For More Information On Alex Izenberg Click Here.
