Album Review: Dizzy Fae Wants NO GMO
Dizzy Fae’s NO GMO is a sexy, sweet, and, ultimately, seductive twist of how music marries love and “the club.” On one hand, she could release any young woman’s inner, lustful tigress, but she also exemplifies our longing for love. Thus, from the seediness of basslines to the shimmers of her singing, Fae’s album feels destined to be at a club or radio.
“Solo,” “Pink,” “Gut Talk,” and “Company” have a punchiness to their sounds. As if each rhythms was clenched by Dizzy Fae’s fist to turn coal into diamonds. She builds a transformative back-drop; making you feel like you are following her down the stairs to a basement club. There you find your lover, and the music makes you either “drop it like its hot” or hold him as if the world is cold. She, completely, understands that “the club” is a “phased” experience; moving between higher and lower thoughts in the same way downbeats and up-tempos interchange.
Dizzy Fae – Altar (Official Lyric Video)
Vocally, Fae’s voice pulps and tastes notes as if to make her lyrics tiny stories, which, technically, they are. From “Love On You” to “Lifestyle,” she makes listeners feel like a romance is born, bred, and ended under a chandelier of sound. You hear her loving and dreaming for herself and her love, while recognizing that music is, also, about being chic and cool. Thus, she spins genres like fabrics; making each track arranged for a different “fashion” or aesthetic. The result is an album that proves Dizzy Fae will be your new fave. Dizzy Fae’ NO GMO comes on June 28. Click Here For More Information.
