Artist Close-Up/ Album Review: You Better Be Ready For Ruel’s Voice
I think I speak for anyone who hears Ruel’s voice and thinks….. “Damn!” At 15, he reminds me of what many must have felt when they heard Michael Jackson sing Smokey Robinson’s “Who’s Loving You.” For me, as I coursed through the Ready EP, I kept on thinking that this voice is too young to be so raw and ensnaring of love’s adult feelings/ issues.
Ruel’s secret weapon is pretty apparent: the voice. From the millisecond you hear it, you want to hear more. It is highly addictive in its beauty and pulp. It feels so full and bloomed like a rose with a million petals. Thus, when you hear his age, you feel excited to know of the many years and wisdom this kid will attain and sing to all of us. For now, Ready EP, is like a taste of of both his potential and perseverance. Tracks like “Younger”and “Dazed & Confused” lyrically speak to sifting through the things that murk our determination, from nay-sayers to self-doubt, and deciding to reach for what you want.
Ruel – Don’t Tell Me (Official Video)
From “Say” to “Don’t Tell Me”, Ready’s production is soul-pop finesse. With producers like M-Phazes and S1 backing him, you cannot deny that this EP was meticulously made to make Ruel appear like the second-coming of epic, male pop voices.. While the pop world has been defined by grand female voices like, Adele or Ariana Grande, the massive success of male stars like The Weeknd or Bruno Mars, people want guys that can hit those high notes, make you feel through music, and produce a bop. Ruel can do it all, and, with his voice, he will certainly, like these artists, be soundtracking the memories of many listeners. For More Information On Ruel And To Buy Ready EP Click Here.
