Concert Review: Ambar Lucid Is A Bouquet of Flores To City Farm Presents

Of all the concert series in NYC, City Farm Presents feels like one for the youth. Most outdoor concert series aim for inviting families, this series is 100% for Generation X and below. It feels like a concert for they youth to enjoy the NYC skyline, friendlier beer prices, and the future of music without ransacking their last savings for the month. With this in mind, Ambar Lucid was a rockstar to viewers.

I LOOOOVE Ambar Lucid. First her voice, feels like the vocals of someone rocking your soul into a dream-filled sleep. She makes you want to rest upon a bed of feelings and imagine all of them becoming better. Imagine that! Imagine all your pains, curiosities, and desires like figures ing your fantasy, and Lucid’s songs are their journeys into higher plains. Introducing new songs and playing off her most recent EP, Dreaming Lucid, Lucid’s music goes above definitions of genre because its puffs and spumes in wonder. She looks at life, and our feelings about it, as if they could all be seen through a crystal ball or a snow globe; somehow, they are all trapped but seen under a glass. This sentiment feels relevant to twenty/thirty-somethings.

The thing about being “young, but not so young” is that your hopes and mistakes feel more weighted. Suddenly, “not knowing” is unforgivable, but you strangely feel like you know less, especially about your future. Hence, Lucid’s ability to transfer the torrid dreaminess of the unknown matched the chill, pensive atmosphere City Farm Presents aims for in its selected artists. People felt relaxed enough to laugh, openly think, and relish in music that was unabashedly fresh. Lucid opened up for Yellow Days; another AMAZING, rising artist that brings a classical soul feel to rhythms that are futuristic and hypnotic; something City Farm Presents’ future lineups share.
