Concert Review: Chiiild Comes Out To Play In BK
“This is 100% “smoke your weed” music,” said the guy next to me, of which I said, “This is going in my review!” Chiiild’s performance at BK was succulent and groovy. He was dripping tracks like raspberries falling on pounds/sounds of sugar. Each one bringing a red passion and juiced rhythm to the audience that made them fall in love with the new artist.
Like Emotional Oranges, Chiiild is anonymous; using the tricks of smoke and lighting to cover his face. Yet, nothing can cover his velvety voice. He smooths over notes like hands patting down the corners of a freshly-made bed: making octaves feel crisp, clean, and so clear you don’t want to touch them. His effortless flow only encouraged the man next to me and his sincere assessments that Chiiild was, again, “smoke your weed” music. Ironically, his weed was confiscated, but the thought was there.

Chiiild felt like an influence. I believe music can get you high, and like a few drops of CBD, suddenly, you felt calm; your anxieties walking away from you as if you had become intolerable to them. Imagine that! Stress saying to you, “Ugh, you are being so calm and patient, it is annoying!” With Chiiild, you could not fight the feel goos vibes. You simply let them hit you like a bong. The result was a show that confirmed Chiiild will be growing in fanbase because people do want to be influenced, but he, at least, he influences you with positivity.
