Concert Review: Fox Stevenson Starts A Positivity Cult

At Knitting Factory, it was hard to distinguish if we were entering a concert or cult. Fox Stevenson’s fans treat him like his music is made of mantras they play for their morning runs. To them, he was a man living by the sacred words of “No F**ks Given,” but he didn’t follow that guideline like a housewife as much as human being.

In Fox’s performance, you could see he was free of anxiety but centered in care. He just wants to love, be loved, and have fun in-between. He was like a Romeo, looking for Juliet, and saying, “You know what?! This whole meet, fall in love, and kill ourselves in under 5 day, feels like too much. Let’s just slow it down and go clubbing.” Yes, that is the most specific vibe description of all time, but it feels right, and part of why Fox Stevenson is building a music cult that I call, “The Stevies” or “The Foxes.”
Fox Stevenson – Dreamland (Official Lyric Video)

The Stevies are a group of people eager to smile and dance without care if they can catch the punchline or rhythm because that does not matter. Sure, I would love to look like Beyonce, during Homecoming, when I twerk and have the wit of a Frasier episode, but the point is that I laugh and I dance. Fox Stevenson emotes that energy whether he is fronting a band or whisking though a DJ set or singing to love born or love broken. He is constant adrenaline and could turn a moment of silence into a Half- Time show, which is what his fans wish they could do for themselves.
Fox Stevenson – Ready For Change (Documentary)

As Fox approached the audience with his usual grace and goofiness, their faces lit up like lights on a Christmas Tree, and I understood why. He represented actual good people caring about the ones they love, tossing out the haters, and dropping beats as
Broad City had it right that any funny, Millennial storyline deserves a booming baseline and swaying synth. Add on that his voice has a light, folkish flare and it no wonder that people want to join his following. For More Information On Fox Stevenson Click Here.

  1. “the stevies” or “the foxes” 😂 I feel like you might need to do a little more research. We are a group that loves Stan but we certainly ain’t a cult haha, maybe an error in translation to English, but no worries. Interesting review man!
