Concert Review: Laura Pausini Is The Queen of Romance At Radio City

Playing at Radio City Music Hall, Laura Pausini’s concert shook me to my core for several reasons. It goes beyond being a good time to becoming a moment of self-affirmation. This woman can compete with T.D. Jakes in stirring a packed stadium of people into better versions of themselves. Yet, after 25 years in the music business, Laura, herself, admitted that she had to grow, and her tour is an homage to growing up.

Speaking throughout the show in 5 languages, Spanish, English, Italian, French, and Portuguese, Laura could give a Duolingo a run for their money. She, immediately, impresses with not just her knowledge of language, but also her knowledge of people and love. This woman is the queen of romance songs, and has dominated the Latin Community/ telenovelas with tracks that show the drama of falling in love. When you are giving into someone’s capacity to make you happy, it feels like a universe is being born within you. Suddenly, details and opportunities intertwine to reveal themselves, and Laura gives you their interconnection by spanning a wide career of hits like, “La Soledad,” “Como Si No Not Hubieramos Amado,” “Viveme,” and “En Cambio No.”

It might be easy to forget how long a career Laura has had because she seems so present and fresh. From “En Cambio No” to “Fantastico,” every song felt like a celebration; with her power ballads were odes to how love connects you with the richness of human nature. Seeing a crowd of people sing her tracks, in their language, was deeply moving because, in a rare moment, I realized I was not alone. People of all walks of life were singing these lyrics that spoke to their feelings and dreams of love, and believed, as much I did, that Laura Pausini was the best singer to summon them. There is something undeniably beautiful about knowing that so many think and move, in love, the way you do, which turns Laura Pausini’s concert into a love convention.

Pausini’s voice is a voice of love. It is piercingly clear, potent, and powerful. Moreover, it grasps the crispness of her vocality on record, and mixes it with the playfulness of her personality when live. She is funny, warm, and connective; consistently thanking her crowd, declaring how much she wishes she could know every single on of us, and encouraging her crowd to, literally, fall in love during her show. Being multilingual, her encouragement feels universal. For More Information On Laura Pausini Click Here.
