Concert Review: Liana Banks Has GAME At Baby’s All Right
At Baby’s All Right, Liana Banks showed that by all means she is A STAR! Why? Because to be a star, you have to have always shone. In looking at the biggest artists of today, from Nicki Minaj to Beyonce, they always understood that YOU are the show. Even if you only have two pennies worth for production, your presence is the thing that makes your performance worth millions and eventually gets you them.
The biggest quality to Liana Banks’ inner stardom is that she combines glam with approachability. In my book, you cannot be anything but glam when you have green-haired pigtails, a faboosh dress, and dance as if you are seducing a lover while challenging a hater. Banks has this inner dynamic to her being and music that combines a “warrior” mentality with a winning, even sensual touch. She understands that, in life, to defend your dreams and heart means to leave them open to all, but you must also watch who is not entering with the best intentions. Thus she appeals so much to this generation, trying to connect self-love with true love, while also simply wanting to turn up and feel sexy for a night.
Liana Bank$ – Ghost
From “Bad Manners” to “People Like Me” and even new tracks, Liana Banks was delivering bop after bop with a casual coolness, and SHE KNEW IT! There is a quiet electricity to her performance; like someone who is witnessing that for all the steps she climbed on success’ ladder, finally, she is getting some height. For me, Liana Banks serves a Kehlani and Jhene Aiko bounce with a Cardi B “Thru Your Phone” vulnerability. She knows how to give you a soft, spoken word or lulling vocals to make you feel that no baseline is ever too heavy or synth-wave too light for a connection. Thus, you groove to Hip Hop, Trop, R&B fusions like they are cocktail by the beach while you and “your girl” chat.

Like other previously mentioned artists, Liana Banks performance thrives because she feels like “your girl”; the one you turn to when another man “played” you or another woman “tried” you, but both failed to see you have game. Liana BANKS HAS GAME, and to learn more about her Click Here.
