Concert Review: Maelyn Has A Merry Little, Mercury Lounge Christmas

Okay! This review is going to be pretty much me gushing over Maelyn as a vocalist. I go to see a lot of singers, but, believe it or not, not everybody knows how to sing. Sure, we have the talent and “the voice/ purposeful messages,” but the training is not often there. Trust me, it makes a different because there are notes you can hit, but, if you don’t know how, then you flop. In essence, I can go to Cuba, but I need a boat to get there. Maelyn had a boat, and she was giving us the sunniest notes at Mercury Lounge.

THE HIGH NOTES LORD! THE HIGH NOTES!!!!!!!!!! My little, operatic heart leaped from my chest when Maelyn riffed through songs so precisely and pristinely. She sew vocal notes like a professional seamstress; threading each verse with such a natural, clean stride, you wish she actually did handle the fabric of your soul. Yet, most importantly, her fans were there because of this talent. She was a singer, of which people were coming, specifically, to see her because she can sing.
LOVE. -Kendrick- (cover x) MAELYN

She knows how. to wield her voice, technically, to reach you emotionally, and such as gift hails to pop divas like, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Ariana Grande. Your voice is an instrument, but Maelyn sees it as THE INSTRUMENT! This difference in perspective allowed her to expand her range and enrapture the audience to the point that they brought her gifts. Very rarely do fans bring artists’ gifts; they have to FEEL the love to be willing to pay for a ticket and a present. As they handed her the gifts, their eyes twinkled in hopes that she was as happy with their offerings as they were happy with hers.

Maelyn’s fans felt complete by her voice, and her ability to make even a simple, “I love you,” plush like a million lotus flowers flowing through a river. Add on that she is bubbly and eager to display her gratefulness and joy at having an audience, and Maelyn is a show to catch! For More Information On Maelyn Click Here.
