Concert Review: Matt Maeson Uplifts The Strong In Brooklyn
Matt Maeson rained positivity over Music Hall of Williamsburg as if it was a million dollar bills falling from the sky. It was as if he had blended his Christian, metal band origins with country music to create a sound that is distinctly encouraging. For him, music is meant to uplift you when life tears you down, which explained the power of his lyrics.
Standing next to a man that COULD NOT stop waving his hand as if Maeson was his Sunday Morning preacher, I was shook by how much his fans loved him. To the audience, Maeson was like a prophetic deliverer; coddling and carrying every person that knows what it is to earn their reward. EVERYBODY STRUGGLES! This is a fact, but it is also true that not everybody wins. For most of us, we win our life’s wars after a few failed battles, and Maeson sings his verses as if they are the staggering punches of a resilient man.
Matt Maeson – The Hearse (Official Video)From “Beggar’s Song” to “I Just Don’t Care That Much,” Maeson’s music was surprisingly uplifting when live and had a revival quality to them. His lyrics are for there person that wishes to give up but his spirit is relentlessly persistent. Thus, he wields his guitar as if it is his weapon for battle and throws his voice like it is his rallying cry. While he is a friendly guy, quick to give a quip and encourage the audience to join along, the crowd felt like they were watching a meteorite splash across their sky. All they wanted to do was look wide-eyed and clap in awe at Maeson’s ability to show that, some of us, cannot give up no matter how hard we try.
Matt Maeson – I Just Don’t Care That Much (Official Video)I always wonder why some people are so hard-wired to be strong. No matter how many times they are hit, they pop back up and lead the way to healing. I find such spirits fascinating, and Maeson’ captures such a soulfulness with a voice that sounds like earth rising to Heaven. He feels grounded in notes as he rises through his range to emote that being strong, for some, is a burden they have to accept as a blessing. For More Information On Matt Maeson Click Here.
