Concert Review: Stela Cole Is Gives Love Attitude At Baby’s All Right

Stela Cole feels like a cross between 1960’s pop and Sporty Spice. Wearing a cool, gym jumpsuit and styling her vocals and hair as if she was a founding member of the Shangri-las, she shows the progress of women in how we sing to love. If those pop legends talked about taking love’s hits, Stela Cole sung to hitting back at Baby’s All Right.

Attitude is in, people! As more female artists rise, they are singing to saying to other what you want from them: as a human being and as a lover. Introducing her debut EP, Throwing Up Butterflies, Stela Cole gave a quick set that left everyone salivating to hear more work from her, which is excellent. She gave a show that defined what it is to make an instant fan. She blends a classic pop sound with a modern, jazzed swag that reminded me of Amy Winehouse because she, too, was able to revive retro feels as if they were completely new. Yet, having a Hip Hop baseline and a vocal, whistle register will ignite anyone to see you as “fresh.”
Stela Cole – You F O (Official Video)

Stela Cole could go from spitting her verses to, literally, hitting high notes that could break glass. She was so pristine and potent in her whistle register that I was surprised Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey didn’t waltz in to join her in her high notes. Being able to scale your range from the highest to lowest notes is absolutely impressive, and if you have that gift in your artistic arsenal; USE IT! It is, literally, how Whitney Houston managed to make every song impeccable and intimate to herself. Hence, Stela Cole does not pass one song without hitting a super high note, and then bopping a verse on tracks such as “Lucky Day,” “You F O,” and “If I Were You.” Moreover, each track lyrically challenges lovers, friends, haters, and herself to step up and see her worth. That kind of ferocity cannot be denied, but then you add pure talent, and Stela Cole truly is “the next big thing.” For More Information On Stela Cole Click Here.
