Concert Review: The Blaze LIGHT UP Knockdown Center
Going to see The Blaza at Knockdown Center was like joining the cast of Pose. I could literally sum up my night in one giphy:
Actual Footage of NOT Me Dancing
If you have not watched POSE, then you are missing out an excellent show, but The Blaze summoned the fabulosity and emotionality of this series/ ballroom scene. Sonically, you could vogue to The Blaze for eternity, but, like the show, their music is about undressing your soul. You did not know it, but your spirit has been wearing so many, unnecessary layers, that it needed to hear them to go bare. It was something I felt in their new album, Dancehall, but their show assured me it was their initiative to spiritually strip. Hence, empowering catchphrases pulse through rhythms that do not know whether to hold the sky or stomp the ground. Either way, nature will feel your presence.
The Blaze – Queens (Official Video)
Surrounded by two massive screens tussling in random images of “everywhere, everyday” people/ landscaping images, The Blaze appeared central; as if they were not just mixing their set but performing a live surgery. They treated their table as if it was holding a machine heart, and they were the best electro-cardiac surgeons to get it ticking again. Thus, their rhythms infused adrenaline like anesthesia to make sure your stress went to sleep so that your heart-rate could beat with enlightening motivation. This could be why the crowd reacted to their songs like it was their souls’ H20. People did not just dance and cheer; their reactions were of souls who had been thirsting for a music-water that made life quenchable.
The Blaze – Heaven (Official Video)
The Blaze give one of the best DJ shows you will ever see because it feels like two Dalai Lamas went EDM. There is a surprising level of emotionality/ empowerment to their music that turns their show into a complete uplift. Perhaps, how they build and drop baselines as if sound carried out knowledge. Still, through it all, were front and center, are two regular guys honed in on the music they are making as if to save your life. For More Information On The Blaze Click Here.
