Concert Review: Tom Walker Is Moving On Up At Bowery
I have interviewed and met Tom Walker, and I can honestly say, “The man you meet on stage is the one you meet off it.” He is incredibly charming because he is interpersonal. He is the guy you meet once, and, if he sees you on the street, remembers your name and what you talked about. This dynamic enriched his bond with his Bowery Ballroom audience and heightened him as a songwriter.
Tom Walker – Angels (Live) | Vevo UK LIFT
Singing from his debut, What A Time To Be Alive, Tom was incredibly precise and clean in his vocal delivery. He is certain in what note goes where and what emotion backs what that his delivery is perfect. His voice figure skates to the gold in every song. From “Angels” to “Blessings,” Tom has the tendency to take a celestial image and bringing it down to earth. For him, you find Heaven through the people you love, the situations you survive, and the fun you have with both. Thus, resilience and romance dance in his songs to create a concert that bends indie-rock into different genres and makes Tom’s voice the anchor.
Tom Walker – Now You’re Gone (Official Video) ft. Zara Larsson
Tom’s voice could heat up the earth’s core. He does this “roar” thing; where he girds his vocals like a crane pulsing through the earth’s plates. Add on his charming tales on being a 14 year old in love versus a man, engaged, and traveling the world for work, and Tom feels irresistibly cool. He is open with his struggles to rise, which is why viewers so him like a relatable icon. A young man that understand how rough it is to be young and find “success,” while also being a guy that is finding it. Thus, as he smiled, made his guitar weep in sound, belted out a note, and ended the set with an encouraging, humorous tale, Tom Walker gave a fulfilling show. One that made me feel like I would be seeing him, next, at MSG. For More Information On Tom Walker Click Here.
