Diandra Reviews It All: Amber Mark Has Pretty Ideas For A Tour

I have long vouched for Amber Marks´ scintillating vocals, and Pretty Idea steps it up to match the seduction of her voice with lyrics and soundscapes filled with delightful drama. From the Motown-inspired opener “Sweet Serotonin” to the disco-tinged “Let Me Love You” to the playful obsession heard on “Too Much” (which interpolates USHER and Alicia Keys’ 2004 hit “My Boo”), Pretty Idea reflects both the freedom and joy of owning yourself like a luxury.

Mark´s is not just lush, it luxurious, and centered around what it means to own you while trying to love men that think they can, as well. HA! Honestly, in tone and lyrics alone, Jessica Lange could have a field day reciting Mark as if it was an AHS episode. There is just something inherently ¨actoral¨ to her sound that makes you want to act out or role-play when listening to her songs. In essence, why be you when you can be the most expensive version: filled with boundaries and birkins no man can cross.
