Freja: I don’t know how it influenced me, but touring with them definitely made me realize I want to perform my own music.

Diandra: What is your favorite song of theirs?
Freja: Tough question, but it must be “Second Chance” or “Objects Of My Affection.” Maybe, because I loved playing them live.
Diandra: How do you feel a dragon symbolizes your spirit?
Freja: A lot of people think that there’s a deeper meaning behind the name Freja The Dragon. My surname is Drakenberg which means “Dragon mountain” in Swedish, so I’m actually a dragon by name.
Diandra: How have you found the pandemic a time for creative inspiration and gratitude?
Freja: At first, I didn’t feel creative at all, I accepted that, did other stuff, and ended up feeling very rested and craving to make music again.

Diandra: In searching for you own sound, what, specifically, spoke to you in choosing a style?
Freja: We focused on organic sounds but always trying to add something that you cannot hear what it is.
Diandra: What is your favorite memory with music?
Freja: I must say I collected a lot favorite memories touring with Peter Bjorn and John, especially when I got to sing Victoria Bergsman’s part in “Young Folks” since it’s a song I grew up with as a teenager.
Diandra: What song, of yours, do you feel most embodies your personality? What traits does it carry?
Freja: I would say “Target For Sadness” describes me pretty well. It’s a lot of power, but it’s also static and calm. The lyrics are also about someone who’s over and over again tryin to feel something for someone else and in a way becomes very vulnerable. When it gets hard, I often fight a little bit more instead of taking the easy way out.

Diandra: In honor of “Tell Me I’m Wrong,” what is one thing you know is right and one thing you know is wrong about a relationship?
Freja: Good communication and if you don’t have a good gut feeling.
