Album Review: Cosmo’s Midnight Take Me Back To Yesteryear
Do people want to dance? This is the question BTS answered with their rocketing success in “Dynamite.” A global pandemic is a weird time to be shouting, “LET’S PARTY!” Moreover, we have reached the point in these COVID Times where we all feel fatigued like, “Is this ish over yet? And when can I, finally, go out without a mask?!” Welp! Leave it to Cosmo’s Midnight to make you long for Yesteryear!

Remember when everybody was like 2020 is going to be MY YEAR! HA! Yet, Cosmo’s Midnight have delivered a record that shows you dreaming is also hoping. Often, we think of our dreams like plans we must solidify, but tracks such as, “Idaho,” “It’s Love,” and “Unwind” show you that you dream to groove. What you envision does not always have to lead to what you can get; it can also make you feel like you already have. Thus, there is a brightness to this record that makes it utterly danceable.

Cosmo’s Midnight are actually twin brothers/ producers: Cosmo and Patrick Liney. To think they were born together to give the world some rhythm makes me believe in destiny, and even believe that their release of Yesteryear is, again, perfect timing. People are really taking in music like water for their thirsting souls because happiness is not an easy quench to find. Thus, hearing tracks like, “Time Wasted” and “We Could Last Forever” reminded me how much I need to dance more. Yes, it is not in the club, but as long as you can dream, their harmonies feel like enough motivation to do so. Buy Cosmo’s Midnight’s Yesteryear On October 2.
