LAMC 2023 Preview: Presenting The Wonder Women of Latin Music
With the return of LAMC 2023 Virtual, people have a free opportunity to learn about the music business that is absolutely unmissable, especially for Latinos. As the ¨minority¨ with the lowest representation, actually getting your foot in the music industry can feel more impossible than simply confusing. Being an artist, an A&R, publicist, or even a playlist curator can feel bombarding in terms of what you actually do and how to make sure you make money from it.
No SHAME! Wanting money from your career can feel taboo saying, especially when so many of us are paid with ¨exposure.¨ It can feel almost archaic or laughable to want to be the top of your business with a good check. Now, of course, Tony Robbins is not running the LAMC this year. Yet, celebrating the women that have dominated the music filed will you give you prime opportunity to know the path you should take to your power or, at least, comfort you in knowing that you are not n the wrong one. Moreover, did I mention there are showcases.
If there is one good thing about the pandemic is that, in going online, we got a lot of cool, virtual events and a plethora of movies and musicians we would have never known had we not been forced to look. With so much quiet time, we opened our listening, and LAMC truly is one of the best events, especially live in NYC every July, to discover the best, rising Latino artists.
