Panorama Festival Preview #2: A Festival That Cares

Rare is there a festival with such a heart. Maybe it is Panorama’s intricate incorporation of technology, but it is truly seeking to reach out and give back, in both education and charity, to NYC.   Not many festivals, if at all, take the time to aid and elevate the area they are about to musically transform. Yet, Panorama has offered work,  spots to local restaurants, and an insider look to students wondering how the majesty of their technological works are manifested. Check It Out Below.

Local Benefits
Additional community benefits range from providing over 300 jobs to community members for the festival weekend, engaging with local restaurants and nonprofits, community service opportunities for festival access, and providing educational opportunities for students in the surrounding communities.
Local Arts Support
As part of this outreach, Panorama organizers will support La Marqueta, East Harlem’s innovative marketplace and public performance space. Goldenvoice will be providing the initiative with financial support to underwrite their music and cultural programming for the summer.   These fantastic events draw the community together to celebrate at this remarkable location.  In order to spread the word about the events, Goldenvoice will assist with marketing resources to draw attendees from across the five boroughs to experience the magic of La Marqueta.
Free Event Sponsorship
In addition to this, organizers will serve as a sponsor for the 3rd Annual Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World festival which will take place in Queen’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park on July 16

. Produced by Queens College/Kupferberg Center for the Arts, this year’s event is free to the public and will feature performances by Dr. John, Kermit Ruffins, & Soulive. Goldenvoice has provided the event’s organizers with booking assistance, marketing resources, and financial support to help produce a world-class festival.

Local Hiring
With the help of Union Settlement and the East Harlem Talent Network, Panorama held a job fair on Thursday, May 26 to help fill over 300 positions for the festival weekend. The job fair was hosted by EHTN at The Taino Towers on 123rd Street as part of the organization’s #HireLocal series.
Local Restaurant Engagement
Panorama will feature approximately 10 East Harlem restaurants at the festival site, providing great exposure for these local businesses. Additionally, these restaurants will appear in Eater editorial features and Panorama’s food map as a part of the festival’s food and beverage program. This marketing exposure will stimulate local business beyond the festival weekend.
Panorama Community Service Program
The festival’s volunteer program has identified 100 participants who will complete 12 hours of community service in exchange for a 3-Day festival pass. With the aim of encouraging community engagement and supporting important organizations, this community service will benefit the following E. Harlem nonprofits: NYC Common Pantry, El Museo del Barrio, East Harlem Tutorial Program, Union Settlement, and Randall’s Island Park Association.
Event Production Education Program
The festival is working with Union Settlement to identify 20 students interested in the entertainment industry to visit the festival site. Those enrolled in the educational program will be exposed to industry professionals and granted access to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to put on a world class show.

Wow. Just Wow!. We need more festivals and people that care and help others exactly like this. How Beautiful! Check out Panorama’s Official Site Here!
