Event Review: A Wine & Cheese Tasting With Lady Liberty

New York is one of the liveliest places on earth, and this pandemic shut us down in a way we have never seen or, more importantly, felt. The City of Life felt like it was dying, and its constant, bombastic events when silent. As it returns, Event Cruises feels right up in reasons why NYC is such a cool place to live. As you cruise by a night, getting the only close, night view of the Statue of Liberty,, a waiter teaches the Four S of Wine Tasting: sight, smell, swish, and savor.

Our waitress, Dorothy was so sweet, informative, and kind. Also, a really good recommender as their Aperol Spritz and popcorn were amazing, even if not included. While the wine tasting included the wines and cheeses, the bar was packed with people eager to try the tasty cocktails and go to the sky lounge, despite the cold of the night. Tables were were aligned and the event felt like the most exciting occasion to be calm. While it was, technically, three hours it went so quickly because people were happy, present, and extremely friendly.

I walked out with 12 new instagram followers and a whole lot of laughs. Surrounded by couples under candlelight and chardonnay, the ambience was a cool combination of romantic and casual. In essence, you could go with your bestie or a spouse, and either way feel connected and welcomed by the setting. Everyone got chatty by the third wine, as expected, but with a break in between, there was plenty of time to take the selfies we dream under the NYC skyline of lights and, as mentioned, Lady Liberty.

I would go a thousand times to this cruise. The wines were excellent, the service warm and gracious, and the views of New York were like a love letter to the city.
