Album Review: Delaporte Escalan Las Montañas
Imagine! Converting spells into synths, desires into rhythms, and potions in basslines! That is how I felt listening to Delaporte’s Las Montañas. While I have always loved the Spaniard duo for their sugary club tracks, this album is 100% more mystical. It feels more experimental yet precise; as if they realized adventures are born from the stories you plan but, somehow, find their own path. On October 16, their narrative begins.
Delaporte – Las Montañas // Making Of.
I felt transported to an Isabel Allende novel as I heard Las Montañas. It felt romantically supernatural thanks to the voice of Sandra Delaporte; that sounds like she is falling in and out of love throughout the album. The effect is invigorating because it makes the album feel wild and fun. Again Imagine! Picture going to the club and every person you dance with becomes a love story that begins and ends within each 3 minute track. It is a beautiful, magical thought that make Las Montañas feel really sweet and succinct but also untamed.
Delaporte – Las Montañas
I have to say Las Montañas is my favorite album from Delaporte so far and a new path for them. It feels like their prior records were leading up to Las Montañas; a perfect, concise delivery of how our night lives might be our real ones. The album makes you dance as their prior ones, but the elements of story and ambiance allow Delaporte to elevate towards their ultimate goals; to show that dancing to a song is the equivalent to writing your own fable. The more you give your body to the music, the more a myth is born with you. Las Montañas feels like the tallest of tales, and I can’t get enough of them.</span
