Album Review: Haelos Ask For Any Random Kindness

Haelos have an unmatched capacity to make hopelessness sound optimistic. Their grooved melancholy makes you dance with your desperations and fears, of which Any Random Kindness, out May 10, churns despair as if it was dreamy. For them, Any Random Kindness is the call to see if there is any good, loving act left in humanity.

I know there is a good in this world, especially when I think of my family and friends. Yet, watching the news or reading the online world of public opinion can discourage the most hopeful. “Buried In The Sand,” “Deep State,” and “End Of World Party” feel cerebral in effect. Transporting you into “Another Universe,” where you are left to ask if, in another life or world, you would be better off? I can guarantee that every human being that has traversed this earth and  has asked that question, which is why human history can feel so tragic.

HÆLOS – Another Universe (Official Audio)

It is it sad to know every person that has existed, at least once, felt like dying; wishing to escape their life by dreaming of being in another. Taking the edginess of that emotion, Haelos smooths it out into a sound that feels both seedy and starry; matching darkly sanded basslines with twilighted synths. Hence, you feel like you are discovering a planet of emotions, of which no resource of stability is as it seems, except for one: Lotti Benardout and Dom Goldsmith’s voices.

HÆLOS – Kyoto (Official Video)

Vocally, Lotti and Dom feel centered. Approaching every emotion, from rage to joy, with an inner security. Thus, from “Kyoto” to “So Long Goodbye,” you find it curious how cool-headed they sound for people singing to insanity and whirlwind thinking. This world, certainly, gives you a lot think about, but Any Random Kindness makes you hope that, soon, better actions will come. For More Information Haelos Click Here.
