Album Review: Jordana Has Something To Say

What a time to rise as a new artist! On one hand, you are brimming with artistic commentary on the world, and, on the other hand, you probably want hide from the earth. The perks of being sensitive is that you always have “Something To Say,” which is the title of Jordan’s new EP; a nuanced, 6 track dive into the mind in the languid sounds and curious verses of the Wichita native.

Yes, I said curious because, in some ways, Jordana did not want to get personal or cheesy. She wanted to be both sincere and vague; observing the interactions of wonder that happen between friends, lovers, and strangers that all want to make a statement, but have no idea the intentions or value of their words. In essence, the same problem we have on social media, in a way, we have it in life. For all that we want to be heard, is that it? Our simple motivation is to be heard without anything to say: both good or new? Hence, Jordan approaches lyrics as if they held emotional rocks she kicks on her way to work or to catch a ride with a friend: everything casual and extraordinarily ordinary. I dig it!
Jordana – Forgetter (Official Music Video)

I think the future holds a lot of simplicity. I talk about us going retro, but I also think we will hunker down emotionally; not looking for depth in compilations but in simplicity. What if the only thing we need to feel good is to feel good? With hazed melodies and lo-fi soundscapes, Jordana’s voice plots notes with effortlessness like they are seeds she is tossing to the ground, and you sprout their meaning. Overall, Something To Say furthers Jordana as a musical welcome. For More Information On Jordana Click Here.
