Album Review: Justin Nozuka Makes You Run To Waters For Serenity

Justin Nozuka’s Run To Waters is like putting your mind on a yoga mat, and asking it to stretch until it finds its center. It is thoughtful, mindful, and soothing in every way. Blessed with a voice that could hush every crying child in a 40 mile radius, Nozuka’s newest record challenges listeners to find fulfillment in what they have.

From our stuff to our friends and situations, there are lot of material bonds that do not always transfer to spiritual satisfaction. For all that we go out, we can feel isolated and for all that we share of ourselves we can, somehow, feel its not enough.Yet, tracks like “Reverie”, “Warm Under The Light”, and “All I Need” make you feel like your surroundings can be your fuel. All you have to is look up at the sky or hold on to a lover’s embrace, and hope will fill you up again. That kind of sweet humility is central to Nozuka’s style and voice.
Justin Nozuka – All I Need

Nozuka can SANG! He can range his voice in meekness so as to show listeners that inner balance and a grounded nature do not cut off how powerful you can be; they are the launchpad. His vocals feel unlimited in songs like, “Bayou”, “Laury”, and “Heavy Stone”. Nozuka genuinely summons a feeling of rowing a boat and falling asleep under the sun as that boat courses through a kind river. I say “kind” because this album does not lyrically divert from analyzing human flaws and heartbreak, but it does treat them like learning experiences. It is as if Nozuka wants his voice and guitar melodies to play like balm for your sad soul rather than the usual blame it can feel.
Justin Nozuka – Warm Under the Light

Run To Waters is one of my top picks for albums this week. You cannot avoid the love and serene giddiness that sparks as Nozuka croons through this elaborately simple album. For however vast his strings weave his soundscape, they always build an atmosphere of calm. For More Information on Justin Nozuka and To Buy Run To Waters of May 18 Click Here.
