Album Review: Kordelya Esta Mal Hecha… Y Me FASCINA!!!!!!!!!
Kordelya is bringing a scintillating take to electro-pop with her debut, Mal Hecha. This sugary genre is usually tossed as blissfully delusional; the songs you hear when you don’t want to feel like the entire world is entering a pandemic. Yet, Mal Hecha takes the sweet synths and drops them like high-kicks; with Kordelya singing to being the coolest rebel to enter the scene and demand her pleasure.
You can be good and crazy or rather Mal Hecha. Why? Because sometimes going “against the grain” is considered insane, and tracks like, “Terco,” “Acero,” and “Consentido” have her looking at men and describing her desire with them like a……… man. Now, of course, she is NOT going all Weinstein, but she is open and firm in how she questions and commands love in every form: from sexual to sentimental. As a woman, it is refreshing, fun, and revolutionizing in the most subtle way because she approaches her wants in a relationship with no dramatics but all the grandeur.

From “Metiche” to “Mal Hecha,” Kordelya’s voice might as well strut her vocal chords in heels. She emotes notes as if they have to walk the runway before they enter your ears. The result is debut album that feels vibrant enough to start a party or ignite a carpool karaoke. Her ability to exude confidence as casual, once again, is why her approach to men feels subtly revolutionizing. She is not even seeing her womanly/humanly desires as a power-play game as much a solid fact that you have to accept. You either behave or don’t … “Guey.” The result is an electro-pop soundscape that can continue to a very long, prosperous career. YOU GO GIRL!
