Album Review: Les Gordon’s Altura Is A Exactly What You Need To Move
With many, around the world, in quarantine or staying inside until they feel safe outside again, it is hard to feel like you can move in Quarantine. Time seems to leave your sense; day and night becoming a conglomerate of space. It is recommended that you stay active and make a routine, even if you are in your pajamas in your bedroom wondering whether the world could ever go back to normal. Probably, it can’t, which is why Les Gordon’s Altura music feels pertinent because is FIRES UP imaginations.
From ‘Dodi Li” to “Parade,” Les Gordon could helm the next Club Quarantine. Every song flows into your bloodstream until you find yourself jumping and dancing on your bed rather than laying out trying to figure what ELSE can you binge on Netflix. It is strange to miss the outside world, but no one can take away your dreams, and, the good thing about that, is we all imagine something even beyond “the outside.” I have had dreams that were more than just cosmic… they were another dimension! Songs such as, “La Noche Azul,” “Patientia,” and “Astral” feel like they could inspire people to dream of new lives somewhere else.
What about a party in the beaches of Venus or how about a dramatic love story in another world where people have eyes the size of Disney characters? Who knows?! IMAGINE IT! The bright rhythms and intergalactic/ tropic stylings of tracks like, “Les Autres,” “Parade,” and “Lolita Le Le” are hypnotic and feel like the backdrop to turning your life into an Episode, which may seem facetious, but it would be nice if, in any situation, three bubbled options popped up, I could pause, and choose what I wanted to see occur. Yet, life is not like that, but, at least, Les Gordon’s Altura can make you picture it. For More Information On Les Gordon And Altura, out On April 3, Click Here.
