Album Review: Vacationer Shows You That Your “Mindset” Is Your Vacation
Vacationer’s Mindset is 100% positive or, at least, builds the road to it. I am sure that you, like myself, have heard quotes like “Be positive!” and “It’s all about perspective!”, and, maybe, like me, you have found them annoyingly accurate. Life is measured according to your approach, and Vacationer wants a better one.
From “Magnetism” to “Companionship”, Vacationer sets up a groovy album to, in a way, observe the law of attraction. Lyrically, they approach everything, from love to self-love, with this notion that maybe a change in mind can bring a change in matter. Now, I am not saying that denying the bad will change it, but what about acting as if you can be the good approaching/ responding to it. Thus, as rhythms tweak and twinge like cells forming life, a new mindset begins
to take place.
Warm, fuzzy, decorative, and 100% easy are certainly the vibes of Mindset. The irony is that Vacationer had a pretty hard time making this record; overcoming 4 years of creative blocks and general life to muster what it is to embrace your every day like a dream. Just imagine it! What if one day you said, “No matter what, I want to feel excitement!” Tracks such as “Euphoria”, “Being Here”, and “Romance” feel like your are making such a choice, and Kenny Vasoli’s voice is that smooth, guru giving you the versed steps.
Vasoli’ vocals feel like an added, psychedelic beat; meant to swirl the electric hallucination/ haze that Vacationer forms. With how breezy Mindset feels, it makes sense that it took them so long to make. Calming down and embracing the goodness of a day, plain and simple, is really hard. We all have so many reasons to be mad, but on July 14, at Music Hall of Williamsburg, Vcationer plans to give you a show that will better your Mindset. Click Here To Learn More.
