Album Review: Wildling Make You Want To Stay “Here”

Wildling have achieved Trop-Rock glory. Their upbeat tempos and surfed melodies shine in their new EP, here. The LA alternative rockers have made an album that conceptually makes you want to swim in the present. Personally, as a person that mentally lives in the future, Wildling’s boisterous attempt to revel in the present is just the right amount of positivity meets party.

“Ah Yes” and “Leavin” are filled with choral harmonies, thumping tambourines and drums, and claps and hooks that make you want to say, “HEY LIFE! I’m going to live you, now!”. The odd thing about the present is that it is so fluid with the past and future. Every second that passes is, technically, you past, and every second coming is technically, your future. Thus, for Wildling, the present is moreso defined by decisions. From “Lilywhite” to “Little Lies” how you embrace your future and the ones you love is, by definition, a present choice. Whether you decide to move on from what you know or seek newer pastures, “Hummingbird” that choice to leave the past and create a future is currently happening, which is why not living in the present is, ironically, illogical. By nature, it is the very bridge to both time frames we so eager analyze, regret, and try to remold, to which “the now” gives us the opportunity we want to make our time on earth worthy. Yet, we avoid it! Yes, this is a VERY DEEP thought, but it is the overarching theme that dwindles into joyously bounced beats and blissful synth0waves throughout the album, which platform the welcomingly easy vocals of Ryan Levine.

I swear Ryan Levine is “that guy” who can make an entire pub breakout in singing. He radiates his vocals with a giant sign that says, “Sing Along!”. There is A breezed warmth to his voice that when backed by his fellow bandmates amps, up the catchy verses and melodies Wildling produces. Hence, Here makes one statements within 5 songs. First, Wildling is destined to rise as raucous rock fro those that believe happiness can sound and feel like mischievous fun. You do not need to do bad to feel good; you simply need to stay in the moment to feel right. For More Information On Wildling Click Here.
