Artist Close-Up Bread Doe Rises In Raisin Bread
Hip Hop can feel divided by two categories, of which, at times, its fans do not know how to embrace its duality. These categories are of social awareness and individual invincibility. Historically, Hip Hop has always been about displaying and confronting the socio-political challenges of the black community, but it has also been, from its very conception, a fun genre about loving and laughing like there is no tomorrow. Such concepts do not have to be exclusive, and Bread Doe’s Raisin Bread understands that.
I had the ABSOLUTE JOY of meeting Bread Doe and playing dominoes with him. (P.S. I WON!) Bread Doe’s debut, Raisin Bread is, about as bombastic and eccentric as his personality. Sonically, it swerves like a car doing donuts in parking lot at 180 mph. Yet, it oddly sounds succinct and concise for feeling so digitally sporadic. Bread Doe fuses every genre into Hip Hop to give it a mercurial, metallic feel; it glistens and silks as his interchanges between rapping and singing cut through with dynamism.
Bread Doe – With MeThe key to Bread Doe’s charmt is that he feels spontaneous and combustive. Tracks like, “Krazy,” “Come Thru,” “40,” and “Prey,” have him zipping his vocals between rapping and singing. This ignites an inherent fun to his style that allows artistry to combine with personality. In essence, you feel like you are meeting the alter ego. “Bread Doe,” that has protected this Chicago man through highs and lows of life. Hence, Raisin’ Bread gains a double meaning. On one hand, it reflects on the past choices and incidents that made Bread Doe, and, on another, it visualizes a future where he will rise.
Bread Doe – Pick UpRapper, producer, and songwriter, Bread Doe is multi-talented and having worked with everyone from Jessie Reyez to King Louie, Bread Doe knows how to make a hit, which is why Raisin Bread is not without bops. From “White Walls” to “2 Much” and “With Me,” every song carries a melody that makes your body move into either full-on twerks or shoulder sways. Either way, his beats are only the guides into the world and awareness that is Bread Doe. For More Information On Bread Doe Click Here.
