“Getting Closer” comes at a crucial time for NEW CITY in their evolution, reflecting on where they came from and looking towards where they are headed. It is a declaration of empowerment for the band and anyone else working towards their dreams. “It’s about breaking yourself down and putting everything on the table, but still feeling lost,” lead-singer Adrian Mitchell explains. “It reflects the ways we’ve found ourselves as a band and can talk about bigger topics. At first, we wrote about the things we wanted and desired, but now our writing is starting to reflect what our purpose actually is and what we’re looking for in the future.”
