Artist Close – Up: Bibi Bourelly Confronts Love For Its Magic And Malice
Here is why I am SO EXCITED about and for Bibi Bourelly. The songstress is a fellow writer, and has created hits for Rihanna (“Yeah I Said It” , “Bitch Better Have My Money”, and “Higher”), Usher (“Hard II Love”), and Selena Gomez’s (“Camouflage”). Yet, her desire to be in front of the stage prompted her to make the biggest/ roughest move anyone can make: away from home. Leaving her native Berlin, she moved away from the love of her Haitian father and Moroccan mother whom each had their own prestigious, artistic careers. You have to really want something to leave the love and greatness of your home, which, for me, makes me admire Bibi Bourelly, Then, you add that she ACTUALLY has talent, and you understand her drive to explore this world.
Bibi Bourelly – Flowers (In Studio / BOY Pt. 3)
When you know you are special then why not take extraordinary measures? Now with Def Jam, Bibi’s acoustic album, Boy (In Studio), is one of the best EP’s of the year; etching out the smooth, raspiness of her vocals and the punchiness of her lyrics. From “Flowers” to “Poet”, do not be fooled by these pretty titles. Bourelly has no lyrical qualms confronting love for its magic and machinations. She approaches her lovers like herself; with unwavering honesty. How lovers control us more than we control ourselves can leave us feeling perplexed? The care we give to others should not be in exchange for the care we show ourselves, but yet every person has experiences THAT relationship. The one that made you feel like you were the Bonnie to his Clyde, and your only hope was not to end tragically or, at least, heartbreakingly. For More Information On Bibi Bourelly Click Here.
