Concert Preview: Alexander 23 Is Sorry He Loves You
Alexander 23 is heading to Brooklyn Steel and bringing his debut EP, “I’m Sorry I Love You,” to one of his biggest crowds on December 12. The album, like Alexander 23’s performances, appeal to the people learning not to feel so sorry about existing. Those who wear their heart on their sleeve and are looking to hand it over to someone who does not think wanting love and being loving is needy or foolish.
In some ways, I’m Sorry I Love You has a double meaning. From “The Internet” to “Sad,” Alexander 23 sings to the regrets of loving the wrong person or the weight of loving someone so much who treats themselves wrong, which can include yourself. From “High School” to “When I Die,” Alexander 23 has no qualms embodying the battle to love yourself while trying to find someone who loves you back. Sometimes, handling both can make you clash, but he approaches this clash like Mr.Rogers deciding to go electro-pop-rock; promoting kindness and synth-waves, all at once.

Sonically, Alexander 23 can go from anthemic to soft or from “Dirty AF1’s” to “20 something.” He is a one-man show/ example that we all look to be the party while also hoping to just find someone at it. Yes, I want to be the show but I also would like to watch with someone. In essence, he emotionally sways like a man helming his own Netflix series and a guy that just wants to Netflix and chill with someone he loves. Thus, his album feels as emotionally complete as it does sonically. For More Information On Alexander 23 Click Here.
