Concert Review: Brasstracks Are The Modern Big Band

From a synth-wave to a trumpet, Brasstracks capacity to blend live instruments with a beat-drop made both energies feel like they were racing each other: reality vs surreality. The computer has become a music vessel; capable of creating sounds that match the eccentric visuals of our mind. Yet, you cannot beat a blazing drum and a riff of guitar. Brasstracks have realized this and created a Brooklyn Steel show that made you feel like you were winning at life.

I can describe the ambiance of a Brasstracks concert as the end of a marathon. You cross the finish-line and horns blast as confetti cannons shoot forward colorful papers and glitter, while your family hugs you. THAT IS WHAT A BRASSTRACKS CONCERT FEELS LIKE! Here is why I am fascinated by that feeling; it is so rare. Most concerts make you feel good, empathized, and even a little sexy. Yet, to make a warehouse of people feel like they won at life is not an easy sentiment achieved, but it comes through their fiery, combustive arrangement.

Brasstracks – Officially Missing You (Live Video)

Every percussion instrument is seemingly in a swing dance with other. Zipping and high-rolling through tracks like, “Officially Missing You” and “Moments” as if life were a gamble, and you are a very lucky person. Moreover, they carry their instruments like they are basketballs, and they know they all make every basket. Thus, when they bring out guests, like Pell, they truly shine because the ease off their musicianship meets with the coolness of their featuring artists. Moreover, their guests elevates/ further modernize the “old world” quality to Brasstracks.

Brasstracks – Moments (Live Video)

Brasstracks’ sound blended with their amping personalities made their audience feel like a bunch of Frank Sinatras and Lady Lucks. Ultimately, they felt like a “Modern Big Band;” somehow bringing together a retro style into 2019, and making it feel cool, fresh, and commercial; as if every Brooklynite rocks a suit and tie with a beanie or a shop dress with a “going green” tote. Yes, that is a specific image, but Brasstracks current and climbing success is because they give you specifics. From their sound to their party vibes/ personalities, you will not find another music/concert like Brasstracks. Click Here For More Information On Brasstracks Click Here.
