Concert Review: Cat Clyde Is Healing Her Nature At Rockwood

After interviewing Cat Clyde, admittedly, her performance felt influenced. She said she used nature and its imagery to reflect upon her personal experiences. Thus, I could not help but imagine a forest within her verses as she performed her new album, Hunter’s Trance at Rockwood.

At times, we believe human nature is separate from environmental, but Cat Clyde believes they are interconnected. Technically, we grow like a tree does, and we do need water. Moreover, there is a theory that if you talk to plants they respond and sprout through your emoted sentiments. Alright, I’m getting deep, but my point is that Cat Clyde’s music blurs acquired perceptions that Nature is not a blanketed statement. We are all a bunch of varying species trying to deal with Nature and trying survive enough to eventually thrive within her.

Cat Clyde “All The Black” (Official Music Video)

Tracks like, “All The Black,” “So Cold,” and “I Don’t Belong Here,” played to a truth SO MANY ARTISTS are singing to nowadays; life does not give you what you want. “Dreams come true” and “Hard work gets rewarded” can feel like stale, archaic quotes that people say to themselves to conform. Yes, I know such phrases are meant to be positive motivations, but sometimes they can veils to the self-analysis, healing, and growth you need to accept your in a rut. It as if you are living for a rainbow while ignoring a storm has to come before it. In this imagery, Cat Clyde lives; holding her guitar to her chest, closing her eyes, and singing her songs as if they are squeeze from her heart like juice from an orange.

Cat Clyde “So Cold” (Official Audio)

The beauty of Cat Clyde’s performance style is that it is so calmly raw and simply passionate. She can be as still as a statue, but yet her presence moves like a phantasm through halls; you know a spirit is there and it feels both haunted but eager for light. In some ways, that is the emotional epicenter of rising youths. For however much, we get stapled as solely “Instagrammers” and vapid, Cat Clyde is musical proof of our depth. She is kind, open, and sings to her desire for a love/life/world that felt that way, too. For More Information On Cat Clyde Click Here.
