Concert Review: Emotional Oranges Squeeze The Juice From Life

Emotional Oranges may be faceless but their sound and style makes their audiences feel seen. The duo feel like a match made in Anonymous Heaven; bringing back a 90’s feel to R&B/ Pop that was welcomed by their Brooklyn Steel crowd. The way they approached the concert with pure fun made it feels like, back in the day, music was happier and sultrier.

Excuse me as I become a 90 year old, cranky man that says things like, “In my day, electricity was a nickel” and “Moses didn’t part the sea. I saw him and he just swam!” The minute you say, “Back in the day, things were better and easier,” you might as well grow grey hair. Yet, Emotional Oranges retro feel felt futuristic, but not, solely, in their outfits or style. It is felt futuristic in making people so happy that tomorrow felt guaranteed. The 90’s might be the final era, in America, when the Apocalypse did not feel two Great Thunberg speeches away. From Trumpeeto to Climate Change times are dark, and Emotional Oranges show revealed that by being exuberant and vivacious.

Emotional Oranges – Your Best Friend Is A Hater (Audio)

From originals to Ashanti classics, Emotional Oranges were bop after bop. There shadows dancing amongst glistening lights that boomed over the audience as we were an Anonymous R&B duo making hits. The dynamic between the pair is pure party, and, honestly, a lot concert do not have that feel. Most concerts, these days, are shows that focus on other attributes like, resilience, healing, and bold, thought provoking art, which is fantastic. Yet, sometimes, you want to take a tequila shot and pretend you are Rihanna dancing to herself. Emotional Oranges appeal to those moments; the ones where you really do feel like a star and are unbothered by the fact that you really are not.

Emotional Oranges – Someone Else (Official Music Video)

We all need music that makes us blissfully feel good: no overthought, just euphoria. Emotional Oranges did that for there BK fans, which explains why they packed the house and  sold so much merchandise titled “Emotional” in orange. “Back in the day” music felt light-hearted even in its sensuality. It was all about having a GOOD time, and, at an EO show, you do. Click Here For More Information On Emotional Oranges.
