Concert Review: FADE Makes NYC “Fall In Love”
I always feel shy about meeting an artist, but, at times, it really does change how you see them. I mentioned it with Cyn, and I mention it with Fade again: we are divided between our inner star and our regular, grounded self. The rising songstress felt humble, sweet, and open to share herself, which made me realize that such meek factors are apart of shining on stage.
With her debut EP releasing, FADE had a brightness to her at Baby’s All Right. Hopefulness and excitement blushed her presence with a glow that uttered happiness, and, in a way, gave fresh meaning to her music. For FADE, music is a platform, which means electro-pop sounds may fuzz and buzz like clinks of candy hitting a glass jar, but, in the end, you cannot deny the sweetness it contains. Such a perspective dominates how FADE sees life in tracks like, “Falling In Love.” For her, life is about maintaining a certain, honeyed richness within yourself as you grow.
Everyone should grow up. This is just a fact, but tracks such as, “Whole” or “Almost Had It All” display growing up is an uneasy must, and FADE’s lyrics feel like gems glossing this truth for you to hear beneath her music’s shine. Hence, in performance, FADE’s sound has a shimmer compared the sparkle of its recording, but I say this difference, not at all, in terms of less. She uses her natural sweetness to really drive the words and emotions behind rhythms that, practically, vape the air with electricity. The dynamic draws you into her presence, and proves kindness is a process, as well.
How we are kind to others and ourselves is a journey, and FADE’s FALL IN LOVE EP may, at first sight, seem about falling in love, but, in concert, she layers the altruism it takes to do that. She takes the opportunity to amp up how much heart goes into “Changing” for the better, and making the music for you to do so. For More Information on FADE Click Here.
