Concert Review: Fletcher Sings To Exes At Hammerstein
As she told the crowd, “Let’s do shots!” I said to myself, “That’s my girl!” (lol!) Fletcher did not only come off like the friend you brunch with, but the one you do unlimited mimosas with and then rally to club with that night. To the crowd, she appeared like the next big pop star, in part, because she sang to the “poppiest” theme every woman can relate to: exes.
When an ex breaks your heart, you do want to get petty, take a shot, and pretend that you are not doing either because of him. As Fletcher spoke to this truth, the audience, full of women ready to see three guys known at LANY sing to their own heartbreaks, felt intrigued and relieved. Do not get me wrong! I know men suffer heartbreaks and have had ladies tear out their heart, too, but I also believe, especially nowadays, that men put us more through the emotional ringer. Thus, the charm of Fletcher is that she was your girlfriend; your Broad City gal you called every time you needed to discuss how fabulous it is and how much it sucks to be a woman.
FLETCHER – If You’re Gonna Lie (Visualizer)
Fletcher’s personalty and chats were integral to emanating how relevant her songs such as, “Undrunk” and “If You’re Gonna Lie” were pop anthems for the heart. The New Jersey native has an easy voice; able to us her range casually as if a note could be delivered through grubhub (lol!). Yet, it is her accessible dynamic that made the LANY fans become Fletcher ones, as well. In addition, she rocked space pants with a bunch of planets and stars sewn into them. My inner astronomer was very pleased. For More Information On Fletcher Click Here.
