Concert Review: Golden Vessel Is A Mood-Maker At LPR
Watching Golden Vessel, I kept on thinking,” I am seeing someone whom is going to be very big. He totally taps into the current “mood” of the twenty-somethings; discovering the colorful and callous ways of the world. In essence, he is the epitome of “mood” culture, which, automatically, makes him a mood-maker.
Maybe, it was the light up xylophone in front of him or the images of home videos playing behind him, but Golden Vessel proved you need to take a journey to get into a mood. Before you end up smoking a spliff on your best friend’s couch and thinking about your ex, you need to have fallen in love first: MOOD. Before you end up laughing with your friend in a hotel hallway in Japan, you need to have quit your job, booked the flight, and decide your savings account would officially be titled “doing me:” Mood. Get the point, it takes a vast road to get to a specific vibe, and, lyrically, Golden Vessel understands while he, sonically, helps you accept it.
From CUCO to Victor! or Joji, there are so many artists making a name by transferring a hypnotic state into a sonic frequency. Songs such as, “Tonight,” “Highway,” “BIGBRIGHT,” and “Hesitate” embodied that moment when you become blank; you are looking out the window and your mind has completely drifted. From “Wave” to “Tell The Girl,”people drifted and cheered as they entered a world of sound that felt constantly moving, despite leaving you still with your eyes closed from imagining. You could not help feel like reality is strangely surreal; and falling in and out of goals and relationships is like jumping from land to sky. Yet, Golden Vessel’s voice is the steady transport lifting you back and forth.

Nowadays, in music, it seems like the power-house vocalist has taken a back-seat to “mood” singers, who keep their range tight and close. It is as if they have to stay contained and hush to not alter the atmosphere of their dreamy songs. Thus, Golden Vessel’s voice felt like a lush flower clasped in a hand; maintaining a lower pitch and octave and to let his melodies get you high. For More Information On Golden Vessel Click Here.
