Concert Review: Hatchie Presents New Music To MHOW
From Japanese House to Frankie Cosmos, Hatchie is arriving at the perfect time. Her music turns self-reflection into moods, and the Music Hall of Williamsburg audience was ready to get moody. As much as the audience was prepared for a Girlpool jam, it was nice to see that people were equally there for Hatchie.
Hatchie – Stay With Me (Official Video)People spoke as much about Hatchie as they did Girlpool; speaking on a lineup of women that rock. Let’s be honest! We live in a world that still struggles to put “rock” and “women” together, but the magic of Hatchie is that she makes her dreamy, shimmering pop tracks feel like folksy, rock anthems for young women trying figure out what they hate and love about life. Moreover, she presents their right to like and dislike how things maneuver around them. Thus, her brief set was warmly received and included new tracks that will be hits.
Hatchie – Without A Blush (Official Video)Vocally, Hatchie lives in simplicity; floating her vocals like paper boats down a river. From “Try” t “Without A Blush,” her effervescent voice did well to amplify that her melodies sparkle with ease. In addition, I loved that she wore a t-shirt supporting Girlpool. It always looks great to see a person of good humor also be a good friend. For More Information On Hatchie Click Here.
