Concert Review: Hollow Coves Show Beauty In The Light To BK

I remember in an interview Billie Eilish said how she just writes sad songs but she feels happy. With that in mind, Hollow Coves took over Baby’s All Right, and reminded viewers you art is catharsis but your life should be joy; put the sad in a song and put the love in your relationships.

Alright, I am going to do it! In my reviews, I always point of the funny artists or the kind ones because it matters to me, and, if I don’t mention it then, probably, the artist was neither. (#shade) Luckily, Hollow Coves were, which made their crowd feel right in choosing them as the song we hear when our life is, literally, on Sad FM. I am talking the midnight cries in a Wendy’s parking lot as you scarf a Biggie Bag after a biggie break-up or the long, over whelming glares you give as you look outside a rainy window and quietly retrace your every life-choice since kindergarten. WHEN DID IT ALL GO WRONG! Okay, maybe, those examples are a little too strong but maybe not?
Hollow Coves – Patience (Live Acoustic Session)

Most people discuss music as the food of love, but music, nowadays, is serving some existential meals. For Hollow Coves, our choices are signs of love, which is why when they go right, it is euphoric, but when a choice is not received or rewarded well, we can’t help but doubt love itself. AGAIN! I’m getting deep, but I went to Hollow Coves with a friend and she, actually, was moved, charmed, and even a little sad at how well Hollow Coves capture life never feels stable but you can feel secure. In essence, if the only strong things you can build in life is yourself then why do you focus so hard to build plans rather than yourself or the people that love you? This type of dynamic waves through Ryan and Matt who will meld their voices and melodies into a thoughtful harmony and then laugh.
Hollow Coves – Beauty In The Light | A Take Away Show

I thought their ability to enter songs that were earthy and quieting but then be like, “What’s up?” to the crowd was relatable, which only transformed both of their vocals, separately, from toned and textured to fully transporting. We jump through feelings like hoops and Hollow Coves songs such as, “Coastline,” “Moments,” and “Beauty In The Light” meditate on how we reflect on our emotions.
