Concert Review: Jeremy Zucker Is STANNED At Bowery Ballroom

“We love you, Jeremy!” “You’re the best, Jeremy!” “You’re so cute. Jeremy!” If ever in my life I walked into a room that affirmed and encouraged me so much, I would walk out of it in a literal cloud. Honestly, with how much love the audience had for Jeremy Zucker. at Bowery Ballroom, he could have ascended into Heaven and called it a life.

When Jeremy Zucker humbly proclaimed how he graduated from college 4 months ago, my life choices flashed before my eyes. Here he was, so accomplished, with a 23 city tour that was SOLD OUT! Better yet, he is just in the beginning of his life and career; with so many opportunities left for him to dream. As on embittered onlooker, I felt happy for him, and as an observer of his crowd, I felt in awe of him. He had sincere dominance over the audience, but he was so unsuspecting. Coyly smiling and repeating his inspiration and gratitude for having so many people follow him but never fully embracing how much people were THERE for him. Yet, could he?

Similar to Billie Eillish and Troye Sivan, Zucker falls into the “young and in my feelings” crowd; garner an almost supernatural following by singing to feeling underground. These artistst are barely breaking 21, but have the capacity to describe every emotion, strength, and weakness that courses through a young adult as if they have lived for 2100 years. From “ Weakness“ to “Al The Kids Are Depressed,“ every track sang to how sensitive you can feel when you still are figuring what it is to feel. Part of “adulting” is realizing that your sentiments are apart of your choice. So often, we think we can choose our situations, especially because we choose our relationships, but that is not always true. Tracks like, “Desire” or “Keep My Head Afloat”                        show that maturing as a person is realizing that your heart must always grow up and feel better even if life isn’t doing the same.
Jeremy Zucker – all the kids are depressed

While Jeremy Zucker puts some nuggets of common wisdom in his songs, his presence feels like a bridge between a DJ and a one man boy band. He sings, mixes, and plays his instruments as if he is a five all in one show, but does it so casually he redefines “star-power.” Though he is riffing his guitar and voice, Jeremy Zucker is so effortless and unbeknownst on the stage, you can call him a natural. Singing over electric synths and chords with a voice that lets the backdrop reign with elaboration, while he coats it with gold. For More Information on Jeremy Zucker Click Here.
