Concert Review: Joesef Is A Psycho Boyfriend Magnet
Sometimes, I wonder what my life was supposed to be, and I think everyone does that. It’s why people love The Matrix, study quantum leaping, or simply daydream. It’s a sign of intelligence to wonder, and a sign of wisdom to create from it. For Joesef, music is his act upon wondering why love is is an easy choice to make compare romance, which is harder to keep. At Baby’s All Right, we we wondering.
The Scottish singer is super nice, friendly, and good humored about being, as his t-shirt exclaimed, a Psycho Boyfriend Magnet. There is a concept that toxic people attract each other, but, frankly, I think good people are the ones more in danger of getting a toxic lover. Why? As Joesef crooned songs like, “Comedown” and “It’s Been A Little Heavy Lately,” he oddly revealed what I always thought. Being a good person that really wants love is endangering when an you run into an a**hole who sees that. Add on his great personality, and he became a live-action TikTok influencer pouring his heart out on how love is really stupid….even when you are smart.
Beyond his musings on love, from speech to song, I have to say, Joesef’s music was delectable. Every rhythm hit the air like a colorful balloon being taken to the sky the wind, and those beats hits me like oil does water: never fusing but you can’t help but watch how they effect and bubble each other. Something about synths feels layered, meshed, but never so close they erase each other. In essence, it was a MOOD, and I like that. It made Joesef’s sweet, airy vocality feel like an invitation to a Willy Wonka of a soundscape, and I was taking ALL THE CANDY!
