Concert Review: Kaos Garden Reigns At Elrow’s Biggest Event
Designed by Okuda with the backing of Spanish retailer, Desigual, KAOS Garden felt like an acid trip as seen through the eyes of Alice in Wonderland, which is exactly what Elrow’s fans wanted. I have been to a few Elrow events and, like Elements, they have a loyal fanbase. I saw a few faces that recognized me and I recognized them because Elrow is a world that people pay, every few months, for re-entry.
KAOS Garden was like a Powerpuff girl deciding to become a dominatrix; it was a weird combination of sugar, spice, and the secret, X chemical that gave everyone their super-powers like, loss of inhibitions. With my friends, instantly, one of them felt the trance like state that DJ’s like Paco Osuna, Blond:Ish, and De La Swing offered. Their music combined with Okuda’s insane, colorful designs made Avant Gardner feel like a different dimension: one separated and guarded from the darkness of earth. The funny thing is that KAOS Garden was supposed to have its own darkened vibe.

When my friend showed me his invitation, that made KAOS Garden feel like an invite to hell, I was shocked. Since, when does Hell enjoy splashes of confetti or polka-dot duckies hanging from the ceiling? If anything, KAOS Garden was an adult Disney as dreamed from the eyes of a Spanish Princess. It was vivid, random, and designed with everything from paintings of duck people falling in love to flying pigs, elephants, and deer. All we needed was DJ Mary Poppins to play a wicked EDM set, and the night would have felt fulfilled in its beautiful outlandishness.
KAOS Garden was a major, phenomenal accomplishment for Okuda because not only did it invite people into the world of Elrow, but it also heightened fans appreciation of it. Patrons were superbly impressed and elated that Elrow stepped up its game for them. With three floors of varying sounds and discotheque vibes, KAOS Garden felt like a place of fulfillment for anyone that loves the night-life more than their daily one.
