Concert Review: Kodie Shane Is A Young Heartthrob At S.O.B’s

There are some people in this world that are so likable, they feel dangerous. You want to know and hang out with them, and everybody at S.O.B’s felt this with Kodie Shane. Singing from her new EP. Young Heartthrob, fans sung her songs as if she had put into verse every time love denied you, even when you thought you were good enough for it.

Call it Ego! Yet, there are certain times when you want to ask a person, a situation, or Life, “Really? You are trying to flex on me? ME!” Kodie Shane put that feeling into her songs and body. She jerks, zigs, and whips out a smoke on stage as if we are not at concert venue; we are at her home. She was LIT with excitement, especially after two days of rest. Frankly, I’m surprised she did not need a year. This woman gives EVERYTHING to her show. So much so that, even if you thought her music was “okay,” I KNOW that, if you went her show, you would STILL deem her one of the best performers.

As a rapper, Kodie approaches her audience as like they are talking “one on one.” She is mannered and manifested like someone who has been dreaming for so long how they would compose their artistic presence. For her, the audience is the artist’s equal; both so moved by music they believe to love a song is to become it’s instrument. Thus, flowing between personal tales and radio bops, Kodie Shane embodies everything we love about Hip Hop to prove how such a love saves.

Hip Hop has been called many things but “salvation” is rarely attributed to its roster. If anything some try to frame Hip Hop as a genre people need to be saved from, but, to Kodie, it has become her lifeline. Every verse is infused with a passion that makes it feel like if the beat does not drop nor does Shane’s heart. Luckily, she has bops! The exciting aspect is that her Hip Hop really does span through genres and an important message; there is excitement to growing up. The more you grow better, the more you do better, and the more fun you have because of it. Click Here to learn more about Kodie Shane.
