Concert Review: La India Trae La Salsa En Summerstage

If Selena Quintanilla taught us how to love, La India taught us how to handle a break-up. There is NOT ONE FIERCE LATINA that has not sung a La India song towards an ex. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! My fellow Boricua is one of the most phenomenal vocalists you will ever hear live because she is playful and potent in range.

From promoting weed to singing to Celia Cruz, La India is a show for people who love a performer with personality, I can, honestly, say I have never seen an artist pull out their glued eyelashes during song just because she was in a mood. Twirling throughout her set, La India feels like a force of ethereal chaos. She is all over the place but anchored by a voice that makes you, the listener, still. With Boricua/ Latinx flags abound, the night was a “pura fiesta.”

MI MAYOR VENGANZA – LA INDIA

The night was exhilarating with La India scoping her discography, and everyone singing along in full voice. La India creates the “break-up” tracks that make you sing in full voice without any care. You just want to tell that pesky ex he means nothing to you now. Hence, I have to give credit to Summerstage for delivering such a diverse line-up this year, and showing that every community of color shows up for its artists.

Latinx were out for La India in the same the Taiwanese community packed Taiwanese waves. The Importance of Summerstage is that it recognizes America/ NYC is diverse in diasporas that wish to hear their native tongue and experience their cultural icons. Summerstage is delivering and goes well into the fall, which is why you should click here.
