Concert Review: Lime Cordiale Squeeze Sweet Rhythms In NYC

If Parcels, Vampire Weekend, and Tame Impala had a child, that baby would be Lime Cordiale. They are a fun, psychedelic duo that, like Babe Rainbow, are skipping cross ponds to return groove to the music scene. Seeing them perform at Baby’s All Right genuinely reminded me of how much people don’t dance at shows but SHOULD!

We swoon, sway, and, occasionally, shimmy, but DANCE ….. not really. While there are still arguments over who killed Disco, Lime Cordiale summoned why this genre is so vibrantly remembered. From “Robbery” to “inappropriate Behavior,” their music may not have sounded like disco but it had the same dreamy, nightclub effect. All you wanted to do was dance under the disco ball, and let each shining light glisten over you. Through the sheer energy of their sound, they made onlookers feel sonic frequencies in their veins. Hence, who could resist dancing?

Lime Cordiale are pure “feel good” with brothers Oliver Leimbach and Louis Leimbach feeling like a rambunctious yin and yang. Both have a mischievous, carefree vibe to them that you can see in how they play their instruments, feel their songs, and even do the silliest faces just to emote a note. They simply did not care, which is why they were so entertaining. For a late night show, their set flowed like day, especially when it came to their harmonies. Thus, the audience could not feel tired when Lime Cordiale’s music invited them to be the goofiest, grooviest version of themselves. For More Information On Lime Cordiale Click Here.
