Concert Review: Morgan Saint Transforms At Irving Plaza
Seeing Morgan Saint, after interviewing her, brought her music and style full circle to me. For Morgan, music is reflective and thus transformative. She needs to change her sound and style because, inside, she is changing, as well. She absorbs life like a sponge, and at Irving Plaza the audience was her water.
Introducing new music, I know, based off her interview, Morgan was excited. Any opportunity to be in the now fulfills her; something she showed in her new work and interactions with the audience. She represents the chameleon aspect of being young; the part of us that wants to change our hair color every month or dress like a robot one day and a pirate the next. In essence, human beings are not static, and, for Morgan Saint, our life might be a giant interchange of played roles. From “ Just Friends” to “Glass House,” Saint set her spirit as one that explores and push the boundaries of her looks as she does her heart.
Morgan Saint – god bless our souls As Morgan moved around the stage like a lotus in a river; she appeared as a woman freeing herself to “be”, which is refreshing. I can’t explain it, but you can always tell who is an “artsy” artist. Whom is the person that not only creates art, but believes it is a spiritual energy of which a person must learn to create themselves. With this in mind, Morgan’s voice paints verses as if every lyric is a color and every color is a mood. While her work has been defined as “moody and emotionally edged, in concert, they felt lighter. Her rhythms wafered with sweetness while her lyrics became the enlightening creme. The result was a show/ music that proved Morgan Saint is as much an artist as she is an aesthetic, which will further earn her a powerful following. For More Information On Morgan Saint Click Here.
