Concert Review: Morgan Saint Is Quickly Rising At Bowery Ballroom

Never in the history of my life have I seen an amassing of people beg the opener for an encore. It was no wonder Morgan Saint kept on repeating her awe and gratitude for the moment, the audience treated her like the start that she is. Openers are the unsung heroes of concert, especially because absolutely every mega artist you know was an opener, and, perhaps, you ignored when they were.

Sometimes, I feel bad for the opener. At times, people feel permission to chat and chug beers as if they are not singing, but the amount of attention Morgan Saint summoned made me think the audience was getting an eye exam; ALL EYES WERE FOCUSED ON HER! The crowd cheered to her every song as if the entire Alien EP was already making up Top 10 Radio. “Glass House,” “On Fire,” and “Until The Day I Die” had the crowd bopping like we were the creatures from Where The Wild Things Are. Thus, Morgan Saint has a distinct capacity to smash together innocence and rebellion to turn the outcast into a mainstream attraction.
Morgan Saint – Just Friends

We all feel like like aliens, but at a Morgan Saint concert your “alien ways” are normal. It is for this reason that she felt as drawn by the crowd as they did her. She consistently huddled over the edge of the stage; singing to the us as if she saw we needed aid, and her music was the help provided. You know someone REALLY feels your music when they make random suggestions. For Instance, after her set, the audience broke out in conversation about it, another good sign, but then I heard the ultimate clue of rising stardom; a man behind me said, “Damn! Her Cardi B cover is my favorite.” This statement brings me to my point; when you start placing yourself, from the beginning, in visions and boxes you never thought you would go, then it means you are opening new doors/ new fans.  There is unpredictability to a Morgan Saint concert that she covers in presence and how contorts her body as if music is coming from her every inch.
Morgan Saint – Thru Your Phone

In the time of Billie Eilish or Zola Jesus, Morgan Saint is arising at A PERFECT TIME! She brings an edge and glamor to the natural alienation so many people/ women feel. Moreover, she can swim through the changing tide of future, music icons. From Phoebe Bridgers to Christine And The Queens, we are getting more women that are willing to openly observe their humanity. The difference for Morgan Saint is that she builds a Jupiter-based Pop landscape, and sings like she is the electro snare anchoring every beat. For more Information On Morgan Saint Click Here
