Concert Review: Nina Nesbitt Is An Icon To LPR
At Le Poisson Rouge, Nina Nesbitt was the Pop epitome of your best girlfriend. Every woman should have a woman that is her confidante, humor, and loving strength when she needs to remember men are not a women’s savior. Moreover, every lady should remember, as a human being, she can only save herself. Nina’s songs allude to such messages by singing on everything from your best friend having a child to your inability to say, “I Love You!” unless your partner is asleep.
When you are a young woman, you can feel divided between your own, natural ambitions as a person and the pressures society places on you as a “woman.” Singing from her new album, The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change, Nina’s songs reached out to the crowd for being relatable and relevant. Though, deep down, we know disappointments and devastations will fade, there is a part of us that wants to sit in our heartbreak, for awhile, because it is the final memory of a leaving love. The beauty of that strange truth laces through tracks like, “The Things I Say When You Sleep” and “Empire.” Though you will rebuild from a break-up, breaking down is a part your repairing yourself. and this recurring, lyrical thought garnered Nina some avid fans.
Nina Nesbitt – Loyal To Me (Official Video)There were those that incessantly wooed and yelled at Nina about heir love/ fandom while she tried to sing and talk to us. Though it was harmless and came from genuine love, it could be distracting. Love is overpowering, especially when it comes from someone you do not know and, literally, cannot see under stage lights. Yet, Nina was so cool-headed and sweet. Her voice felt like a berry spread over toasting rhythms. Her ability to glide through her set reminded me of the old days of pop; when Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears dominated the radio with their memorable hooks on heartache.
Nina Nesbitt – Is It Really Me You’re Missing (Official Video)Nina has a voice made for pop, a sound made for a queen, and verses created by a poet. By all means, she will and deserves to be loved by more fans. Yet, it is her ability to make her songs feel like the igniting sing alongs to heartbreak that garners her comparisons to prior pop queens. Everyone wants to close their eyes, sing out loud, put their hands up, and pretend they have never felt pain while sining to it. Nina’s songs give that effect, which is why her audience saw her as an icon more than an artist. For More Information On Nina Nesbitt Click Here.
