Concert Review: Sad Night Dynamite Explode In BK

Celebrating their last U.S. stop, Sad Night Dynamite felt like a band I would find on the Trainspotting soundtrack. They were made to be in some dark, seedy episode of Blade or Buffy; where vampire are fought or a character finally meets their crossroads. If that sounds cinematic, epic, and little bit sinful, well…. That is Sad Night Dynamite.

It was hard not to feel like a badass, as the duo sang lyrics from a bullhorn and had red and white lights flashing before them to their shadows into haunted creatures behind them. From “Krunk “ to “Psychedelic Views “, they built an ambiance that made you feel dangerous like, you wanted to go to the nightclub and stay with the night forever. Frankly, most people are craving for that reality. The people at their show were beyond excited over adrenaline; they were lit off a concept or rather they fantasy SND gave them.

Both in sound and words, SND feel bombastically enraged. Their lyrics permeate with betrayal, bashings, and the intoxicated nights that help us forget the latter, which is why I mentioned their vampiric vibe. Let us not act like we have not had our Morbius/ Dracula fantasies, where we bite off anyone that slights us in the least. To be quite frank, who has not Life  “Will Smith Slap” them over stupidities. Yet, Sad Night Dynamite create the sound and space that makes you foolishly believe you could slap Life back, and, sometimes, it is nice and even needed to feel like a badass fool. Thus, I HIGHLY recommend this duo for a show to see when you are tied of playing “you” and want a new role-play.
