Concert Review: Saint Motel Turn Webster Into Jurassic Park

I was shocked by the level of showmanship at Saint Motel’s show. Of course, I expected a fun one. Have you heard their music? They have soundtracked commercials for a reason; they make life feel like a perfect, 30 second ride in an Audi. Yet, I did not expect a show with such a cinematic theme and vibrance.

Entering the venue, classic 90’s theme songs blasted. At a concert, the music you hear before an artist comes on can be a indicative of their style and energy. You go to a Wale show and you will hear a 90’s Hip Hop mix and if you check out Griff, you might as well hang with Aaliyah and Billie EIlish. Thus, I was VERY CURIOUS to know what kind of show I was getting when I heard the Jurassic Park theme song, and the, like Chris Pratt running with a pack of baby T-rexes, AJ Jackson came on and took the stage by storm.

He had fake torches, a captain’s hat, and a movie voice-over that would boom from the speakers to guide him in surviving the craziest, most dangerous adventure to occur since Luke Skywalker aimed at the Death Star…. this adventure being a concert. It was engulfing because the audience’s energy was ta ripe mix of “Huh?” and “I’m into this!” If we thought we were just coming for music, Saint Motel assured to give Oscar-Worthy performances. They completely fed into the dynamic and allowed their show to always be interesting, which even they recognized is rough; asking the crowd if they were at that point in a concert when they are like, “okay I came, I saw, I conquered.”

For however much you love a concert, right around the middle is when you start checking your watch and think…. okay, I saw my fave artist and an uber is still relatively cheap at this time. It is not your fault; at best we can keep a person’s interest for 20 minutes in a conversation and I am pretty sure some people have not made it to the end of this review. Yet, at Saint Motel, everyone stayed and felt like they had the most memorable experience of an artist’s music. This group understands that you go to a concert because you love a band’s music, of which they see an opportunity to transform how you listen to it, as well. Now, when I hear Saint Motel, I definitely imagine Chris Pratt in Jurassic Park. THANK YOU! For More Information On Saint Motel Click Here.
